“A Multicultural Italy: Embracing Diversity and Transnational Identities“

The Penn State Italian Student Society—in collaboration with the departments of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese and African American Studies, Humanities Institute, Center for Global Studies, and the Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—has invited Italo-Egyptian rapper Amir Issaa to Penn State University Park. Amir will be participating in a roundtable discussion about Italian identities, Black Lives Matter movement and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in Italy, and his experience as an Italian with an Egyptian father and Italian mother. He will also give a hip-hop concert performance later in the evening. Both events will take place on Thursday, November 9. Admission is free for both, but RSVPs are recommended through OrgCentral
