the 1590s\, Franciscan friars and Maya artists collaborated to design th
e decorative scheme of the newly constructed mission church \;in Dzi
dzantú\;n\, Yucatá\;n. In this talk\, Amara Solari will inte
rrogate their design and corresponding pigment selections\, understandin
g how this native community grafted early modern ritual practices upon a
nd within their ancient modes of ceremonial placemaking\, eventually cra
