El Día de la Bestia (The Day of the Beast)

Please join us for the first screening of the new Spanish Horror and Fantasy Film Series. An informal discussion and Q&A will be held following the film screening.

A Vasque priest has deciphered a secret message in the Book of Revelation: the Antichrist will be born soon in Madrid, where a wave of riots and crime has already begun. To avert the birth of the biblical beast, the priest must embark on an extremely perilous quest. He travels to the capital of Spain and bents on committing as many sins as possible, which enables him to get closer to evil. Along the way, he joins forces with a Black Metal enthusiast and an Italian authority on the occult. As a team, they embark on a hilarious nighttime adventure in an otherworldly Madrid, traversing stunning locations that are both mesmerizing and instantly recognizable. The Day of the Beast is coming, and they are the only hope for humanity!

This event is sponsored by the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese and Penn State University Libraries. For more information, please email Juan Udaondo Alegre or Manuel Ostos.
