The Mary E. Rolling Reading Series presents Matthew Ferrence

Matthew Ferrence is the author of two books of creative nonfiction—I Hate It Here, Please Vote For Me: Essays on Rural Political Decay (WVU Press 2024) and Appalachia North: A Memoir (2019). He's currently at work on a collection of jazz essays, and an eco-fabulist novel. His essays and stories have appeared widely in North American literary journals, including Gettysburg Review, The Fiddlehead, Blue Mesa Review, and Best American Travel Writing. He is a professor of creative writing and literature at Allegheny College.
