SUMMARY:2019 Global IHRM Conference
DESCRIPTION:\nThe International HRM field is broad and expanding\, incor
porating many disciplines including cross-cultural management\, comparat
ive HRM\, and strategic international HRM. Practice and research are foc
used on understanding why certain HRM activities fit a given institution
al and/or cultural context\, or exploring how a multinational enterprise
manages the global/local paradox. Insights from the international organ
izational behavior field also complement these questions\, increasing ou
r knowledge around how individual employees from different countries exp
erience HRM in their organization.\n\nBuilding on this broad research ba
se\, the first three&nbsp\;Global Conferences on IHRM&nbsp\;held at the
Pennsylvania State University since 2013 helped to broaden our knowledge
. Yet there is still more to learn&hellip\;!\n\nWe would like to encoura
ge this broadening of our understanding of International HRM with the 4t
h&nbsp\;Global Conference on IHRM\, being hosted by The Pennsylvania Sta
te University at University Park\, Pennsylvania\, USA. We encourage subm
issions that allow us to&nbsp\;understand&nbsp\;our observations in the
IHRM field beyond describing them\, answering the &lsquo\;why&rsquo\; qu
estions\, and providing clear implications for practice.\n\nTo this end\
, we invite submissions that cover conceptual\, theoretical\, and empiri
cal investigations that adopt various methodologies and highlight the co
ntext-specific nature of HRM systems. Papers that address but are not ne
cessarily restricted to the following topics are especially invited:\n\n
		- HRM models from emerging markets\n	- Institutional and cultural persp
ectives on IHRM\n	- HRM in multinational enterprises\n	- High performanc
e work systems in different national settings\n	- Expatriate management
and global careers\n	- IHRM and informal social ties and networks\n	- Gl
obal talent and knowledge management\n	- Global leadership development\n
		- Diversity\, aging population\, and generational challenges in differe
	nt national settings&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nb
sp\;&nbsp\;\n	- Ethics and corporate social responsibility in the global
ization of work\n\nFor more details: https://events.la.psu.edu/event/201
