The School of Public Policy's leadership series spotlighting professionals with careers in public policy will feature Michael Hannan on Wednesday, April 13 at 11:30 a.m. EDT.
Mike Hannan has more than 25 years of experience in project management as an entrepreneur, executive, project portfolio manager, program manager, process engineer, and software architect. His background in project management began in the early 1990s at NASA, where he supported large, complex initiatives such as the International Space Station and High-Performance Computing & Communications (HPCC) programs. He spent 10 years managing enterprise IT programs, military weapon-system modernization initiatives, and military and veteran healthcare projects. He has managed and consulted on project portfolios valued at over one billion dollars, and consulted for dozens of large government agencies and for eight Fortune 500 companies.
He has a master of science in information technology from George Washington University, a master of arts in international affairs from American University, and a bachelor of arts in arts and sciences from Penn State. He is also a lead author of the best-selling book, The CIO’s Guide to Breakthrough Project Portfolio Performance (Fortezza Consulting, 2014), and has been published in PM Magazine, a publication by Morgan State University’s graduate program in project management.
