Why Materials Matter Collaborative Colloquia (second seminar)

Why Materials Matter will meet 6 times during the 2022-23 Academic Year. Our goal is to foster interdisciplinary discussions about materials, primarily (but not strictly limited to) those used for the production of art. We will have brief, informal presentations related to a theme, followed by an open forum for discussion. Themes include materials characterization, provenance, acquisition and supply chain issues, properties of materials (both new and old), materials conservation, and possibly books and their materials.

The theme for this session will be:

"Materials from Earth"
