SUMMARY:Trans Care: A Critical Conversation with Hil Malatino
DESCRIPTION:\nThe Rock Ethics Institute\, with the Department of Women&r
	squo\;s\, Gender\, and Sexuality Studies\, invite you to &ldquo\;Trans C
	are: A Critical Conversation\,&rdquo\; on Tuesday\, December 1 at 4:00 p
.m.\n\nWe are proud to host a conversation about Hil Malatino&rsquo\;s n
ew book\, Trans Care\, with the author\, Ann Cvetkovich (Carleton Univer
sity)\, and Jules Gill-Peterson (University of Pittsburgh). The panel wi
ll explore themes raised in Dr. Malatino&rsquo\;s book\, such as the uni
que challenges faced by trans individuals\, how traditional systems of s
upport often fail them\, and why we must radically rethink the ethics of
care as it applies to them.\n\nTrans Care (University of Minnesota Pres
s\, 2020) is a critical intervention in the ways that care labor and car
e ethics have heretofore been thought\, arguing that dominant modes of c
onceiving and critiquing the politics and distribution of care entrench
normative and ciscentric familial structures and gendered arrangements.\
n\nThis webinar event is free and open to the public\, but requires adva
nce registration. Please contact Rock Ethics Institute Associate Directo
r Erin Heidt-Forsythe at eah28@psu.edu\, if you have any questions about
the event.\n\nClick here to register in advance.\n\nFor more details: h
