“The Apophasis of Transgender: Negative Theology and Ecstatic Bodies”
Humanities Institute Faculty Scholars in Residence Lecture Series

Join us for a thought-provoking talk that brings together the theological tradition of unknowing (apophasis) and contemporary discussions of the abyss. Drawing on the visionary work of medieval French mystic Marguerite Porete, C. Libby, assistant professor of women’s, gender, and sexuality Studies at Penn State, offers a reimagined understanding of embodiment—one that transcends biopolitical frameworks of gender.
