"Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS)"
About the Session: This workshop will describe the Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), an evidence-based intervention for middle and high school students exposed to stressful and traumatic events. This ten-session, small group intervention teaches students ways of coping with and recovering from traumatic experiences. It includes ten skill-building small group sessions and one to two individual sessions, all held at school. The workshop will describe screening and eligibility criteria, review intervention phases and strategies, and present research documentation of program effectiveness.
Registration is required. Registration deadline is April 30, 2021.
This workshop is presented by Penn State's Child Study Center, Psychological Clinic, and the State College Area School District.
