DESCRIPTION:\n&ldquo\;Reimagining Jewish Apocalyptic Literature&rdquo\;\
	n\nwith Robert Jones\n\nRob&nbsp\;Jones&nbsp\;completed a doctorate in r
	eligious studies at McMaster University in 2020. His dissertation focuse
	d on representations of the Jewish priesthood\, sacrificial system\, and
	 temple in the Aramaic writings from Qumran. It has been accepted for pu
	blication in Brill&rsquo\;s Studies on the Texts of the Desert of Judah 
	(STDJ) series.&nbsp\;Rob&nbsp\;is now beginning a two-year postdoctoral 
	fellowship in the Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studi
	es at Penn State\, where he will be working on a project that considers 
	how the Aramaic writings from Qumran can inform our understanding of Hel
	lenistic-era Jewish apocalyptic literature. This lecture will serve as a
	n introduction to his postdoctoral project.&nbsp\;Rob&nbsp\;will discuss
	 the relation of early Jewish apocalyptic literature to a broader Aramai
	c scribal tradition that flourished in the late Persian and Hellenistic
