Reading and Q&A with Pardeep Toor

What happens for the modern immigrant when hard work doesn’t pay off and dreams don’t come true? Do bad times last forever? These are the questions Pardeep Toor confronts in his debut short story collection, HANDS (Cornerstone Press, 2026). Pardeep grew up in Brampton, Ontario and currently lives in Colorado. He’s a writer, librarian, and teaches creative writing at Lighthouse Writers Workshop. Pardeep’s writing has appeared in the Best Debut Short Stories 2021: The PEN American Dau Prize, Southern Humanities Review, Catapult, Electric Literature, and Longreads.
