SUMMARY:Pronouns and Gender Equity
DESCRIPTION:\nThe issue of personal pronouns has recently risen to great
er public prominence in\n\nconnection with wider awareness and acceptanc
e of the LGBTQ+ movement. Pronouns\n\nare a crucial entry point to promo
te greater gender equity because they provide small\n\nbut concrete step
s everyone can take to eliminate gender bias in their speech and to ally
	\n\nthemselves with gender-diverse communities.\n\nIn this interactive p
resentation\, Penn State Brandywine&#39\;s Dr. Evan Bradley (he/him/his)
\, associate professor of\n\npsychology and linguistics\, and Dr. Laura
Evans (she/her/hers)\, associate teaching professor of human development
and family studies\, will discuss gender as a spectrum\, what pronouns
are\, and review research about why they matter. They will also practice
sharing and using pronouns\, including gender-neutral and nonbinary pro
	nouns like singular &#39\;they&#39\; and\n\nneopronouns. Finally\, they
will discuss the connection between pronoun practices and other ways to
foster gender-equity among colleagues and students.\n\nClick here to reg
ister. Registration is required.\n\nFor more details: https://events.la.
