	;Bridging Underground Railroads: Diaspora\, Black Freedom\, and Abolitio
	n in Mexico.&rdquo\;\n\nHammack is a Mexican scholar and public historia
	n whose work bridges through a gender lens\, the histories of liberation
	 and abolition in North America and the Black diaspora in Mexico. Her fi
	rst book\,&nbsp\;Channels of Liberation: Freedom Fighters South of Slave
	ry\, reexamines the Underground Railroad to reconsider and broaden the a
	ctors\, timelines\, and geographies of Black liberation in North America
	 and the transnational experiences of Black Americans who left the Unite
	d States to claim freedom in Mexican spaces.\n\nThis research talk is sp
