“Why Materials Matter: Materials on Display”

“Why Materials Matter: Materials on Display” will feature two museum registrars (Beverly Sutley from the Palmer Museum of Art and Emily Phillinger McVeigh from the Mennello Museum of American Art in Orlando) bringing some of their favorite stories, as well as a practicing artist and museum preparator (Andy Gleason) discussing how he chooses the correct materials for the various works and displays he creates. Andy has done a great deal of work for the Smithsonian and was recently involved in two of the White House Christmas displays for the Bidens.

There will be coffee, orange juice, and pastries available. This event is in-person and on Zoom.
