Film Screening: Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods

The screening accompanies actor Delroy Lindo's visit to campus and will be facilitated by Matthew Jordan, head of the Department of Film Production and Media Studies in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications.

Lindo has received numerous accolades throughout his illustrious career. In addition to “Da 5 Bloods,” his filmography includes “Crooklyn,” “The Cider House Rules,” “Get Shorty,” “Gone in 60 Seconds,” and “The Harder They Fall.” In film, he’s been awarded Best Actor by the New York Film Critics Circle, National Society of Film Critics and Critics Choice Super Awards, in addition to receiving career tributes from the Gotham Awards and Santa Barbara Film Festival. On the stage, Lindo has received the Helen Hayes Award Nomination and NAACP Imagine Award for Best Actor. In addition to his collaborations with Spike Lee, he is known for his portrayal of Herald Loomis in August Wilson’s “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.” Lindo received widespread recognition for his work in Ryan Coogler’s critical and commercial smash “Sinners” and will next star in the upcoming “Godzilla v. Kong” sequel for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Lindo will make his directorial debut with the feature “Jabari’s People.”

Lindo’s visit is co-sponsored by the College of Arts and Architecture, the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications and the College of the Liberal Arts.
