IN THIS ONE-HOUR SESSION, PARTICIPANTS WILL:

  • Explore the value of genre as a lens for teaching discipline-specific writing
  • Discuss distinctions between higher-order concerns (content, organization) and lower-order concerns (grammar, mechanics) when
  • assessing multilingual student writing
  • Learn the COACH model as a tool for focusing writing feedback along a hierarchy of concerns that include both content and form
