DESCRIPTION:\nJoin the Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean 
	Studies for the second event in its 2024–25 lecture series\, “Connected 
	Histories of the Ancient Mediterranean and Near East.”\n\nOur speaker is
	 Professor Robert Cioffi (Bard College). Cioffi’s research interests inc
	lude Greek literature\, travel and ethnography in the ancient world\, th
	e history of the novel\, Greek and Roman religion\, Greek and Egyptian c
	ultural interactions\, and papyrology. He teaches Greek and Latin at all
	 levels\, as well as courses in translation on topics such as Greek myth
	ology\, introductory Greek history and culture\, and the invention of di
	fference in the ancient world. His book\, Egypt\, Ethiopia\, and the Gre
	ek Novel: Between Representation and Resistance has just been published
