Dr. Merera Gudina Jefi is a former member of the Ethiopian Parliament and presently professor of political science at Addis Ababa University. Dr. Merera is the author of several books and articles on Ethiopian politics. He is also an activist for change and democratization. For his troubles, he was imprisoned for seven years by Ethiopia’s military government in the 1980s.
