SUMMARY:Don Vosburg Academic Technologist of Learning Innovation
DESCRIPTION:\nVosburg came to Penn State with thoughts of spending his c
areer teaching. He did teach (for a while)\, but these days he works in
academic technology at Carleton College\, helping faculty think through
AI and teaching with technology when it suits their pedagogical and desi
gn goals. It’s still teaching of a sort\, just from a different angle th
an the one Vosburg trained for.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nIn this talk\, I’ll look b
ack at the route from language teaching to my current role\, including t
he forks in the road where things could have gone differently. I’ll also
talk about the skills from graduate school that carried over into this
work\, and share some thoughts on building two academic careers in one h
ousehold. Come for the career story\, stay for the 8-bit graphics.\n\nFo
