This event will feature a screening of her documentary ¿De qué casa eres? (Where do you call home?) (2024), which takes its title from the question that was repeatedly asked to the almost 3,000 Spanish children exiled to the USSR due to the Spanish Civil War. The film is the story of Pérez-Quiroga’s mother, children, Angelita Pérez, who lived in Russia from the age of 4 to 24, until she finished her degree in medicine in Moscow before returning to Spain and later marrying and moving to Portugal. The film is, ultimately, a past-to-present story that searches for how world history intersects with one’s personal story. The documentary screening will be followed by a discussion with Pérez-Quiroga where we will moderate questions from the audience.
