SUMMARY:Child Study Center Speaker Series: Phillip W. Graham, Dr.P.H.
DESCRIPTION:\nPhillip W. Graham\, Dr.P.H.\n\nDirector\, Center for Behav
	ioral Health Epidemiology\, Implementation\, and Evaluation Research\, a
nd Principal Scientist\, RTI International\n\n"Culturally Responsive Hea
ling Practices for Boys and Young Men of Color"\n\nThis study presents a
developmental evaluation exploring how grantees integrated the Robert W
	ood Johnson-funded Forward Promise Initiative’s Heal\, Grow\, Thrive (HG
	T) Framework and the dehumanization conceptual model into their existing
programs. The evaluation identified and codified practices that organiz
ations use to disrupt dehumanization\, particularly among boys and young
men of color (BYMOC). The findings revealed nine practices across three
	 categories—new narratives\, culturally responsive programming\, and sys
tems reform—that organizations used to disrupt dehumanization. These pra
ctices\, grounded in both the lived experiences of BYMOC and robust rese
arch\, provide a foundation for new hypotheses in the field\, suggesting
areas for future research on aligning specific practices with types of
dehumanization as proposed by the NPO model.\n\nCo-sponsored with the Ed
na Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center\n\nGraham is also presentin
	g the Bennett Lecture\n\nThursday\, October 3\, 2024\n\n4:00–5:30 p.m.\,
