Cries Without an Echo

Ellen Kaplan addresses three major topics:

Mass Incarceration and interminable

sentencing, like Life Without Parole, and Death

Row sentences; the social trauma that mass

incarceration is/reflects, and the personal

trauma that characterizes these inmates

in particular, and how artists work in prisons to

teach, listen, help heal, and offer opportunities for

expression and growth.
