DESCRIPTION:\nThe purpose of this event is to highlight the experiences 
	of the Jewish-Sephardic diaspora in Mexico through a poetry reading and 
	lecture on Jewish literature in Mexico. The event will feature the work 
	of Myriam Moscona (author and poet) and Jacobo Sefamí (author and schola
	r). Our guest speakers will critically explore narratives that Sephardic
	 Jewish societies developed in their diasporic experiences. This event w
	ill help our audience gain an understanding of the transcultural identit
	y of Judaism in Mexico and will underscore the importance of Ladino lang
	uage in preserving the Jewish cultural heritage. This event will highlig
	ht the cultural and artistic practices that Mexican Jewish groups have d
	eveloped in modern and contemporary times. It will be of interest to fac
	ulty\, students\, and the broader community\, and will address topics of
	 current relevance such as the history and practices of Judaism\, migrat
	ory processes\, languages in extinction\, Judaism and gender\, represent
	ations of Jewish minorities in Mexico\, different approaches in Mexican
