DESCRIPTION:\nThe Comparative Literature Luncheon is a weekly informal l
	unchtime gathering of students\, faculty\, and other members of the Univ
	ersity community.  Each week there is a short (30 minute) presentation\,
	 by a visitor or a local speaker\, on a topic related to any humanities 
	discipline.\n\nLevi’s lecture will cover the theoretical conception of h
	is forthcoming edited volume\, the Cambridge History of Middle Eastern M
	odernism\, which brings together scholars working across several Middle 
	Eastern languages to comparatively explore the roots\, development\, and
	 institution of modernism as a literary and aesthetic movement in the re
	gion. The talk will also include a few close readings of Arabic and Pers
