SUMMARY:Child Study Center Speaker Series
DESCRIPTION:\nSona Dimidjian\, Ph.D.\n\nProfessor\, Department of Psycho
	logy and Neuroscience\n\nUniversity of Colorado\, Boulder\n\n&quot\;Prev
	enting and Treating Depression During the Perinatal Period&quot\;\n\nAbs
	tract: Depression among women during pregnancy and the postpartum period
	 is a major public health problem\, with implications for women and fami
	lies. Despite this\, existing interventions for the prevention and treat
	ment of depression during this lifecycle phase are limited in addressing
	 women&rsquo\;s needs. In this talk\, Dr. Dimidjian will discuss the way
	s in which a clinical psychological science approach to prevention and i
	ntervention helps to identify specific skills that support women&rsquo\;
	s well-being as well as delivery methods that prioritize access. Multipl
	e examples and empirical findings will be provided to illustrate the way
	s in which the thoughtful integration of science\, community\, and techn
	ology can increase our understanding of practices to promote enduring in
	dividual and social well-being.\n\nCo-sponsored with the Edna Bennett Pi
	erce Prevention Research Center\n\nFor more details: https://events.la.p
