Bio: Michael A. McCarthy is an Assistant Professor of Sociology in the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences at Marquette University where he teaches in the areas of social theory and political economy. He is currently working on a book on the politics of democratizing finance. His recent book is Dismantling Solidarity: Capitalist Politics and American Pensions since the New Deal, published with Cornell University Press.
