An author-meets-critic session hosted by African American Studies in honor of the publication of Timeka Tounsel's new book: Branding Black Womanhood: Media Citizenship from Black Power to Black Girl Magic. Dr. Tounsel will be in conversation with Lisa B. Thompson, professor of African and African diaspora studies at the University of Texas-Austin. The event will be moderated by Ashleigh Wade, assistant professor of English and African American studies and Melvin and Rosalind Jacobs University Endowed Fellow in the Humanities.
