	r CHI Fellow Bonnie Mak will speak on “The Digital Archive as Text (And 
	How to Read It)” as CHI launches its yearlong speaker series.\n\nBonnie 
	Mak is associate professor at the University of Illinois\, jointly appoi
	nted in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science and the P
	rogram in Medieval Studies. She teaches courses in the history and futur
	e of the book\, and offers doctoral seminars on authenticity\, reading p
	ractices\, and knowledge production. Her first book\, How the Page Matte
	rs (2011)\, examines the interface of the page from the Middle Ages to t
	oday\, across time\, geographies\, and technologies. A second book-lengt
	h project\, Confessions of a 21st-Century Memsahib\, explores the manufa
	cture of "data" in the humanities\, and its implications for scholarship
