SUMMARY:“Autonomy and Control: Reflections on Digital Humanities and Open Schola
	rship”
DESCRIPTION:\nMost of the digital humanities narratives are based on the
technologies that help scholars build objects. However\, many times tho
se digital humanities narratives are rather descriptive or acritical. In
recent years\, the principles of open scholarship or open science have
taken part of public policies in many countries and regions. Many of the
principles of open science (though not necessarily its policies) emphas
ize the use of open software and hardware to promote the openness of dat
asets\, research methodologies\, reusable digital resources\, etc. In th
is talk\, I will reflect on the advantages and challenges of open workfl
ows\, data repositories\, and open software in digital humanities projec
ts.\n\nGimena del Rio Riande is visiting from her Digital Humanities Lab
at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) in
Buenos Aires\, Argentina. Her work focuses on digital scholarly editions
\, metadata standards\, and developing digital humanities in Spanish-spe
aking regions. She has led numerous projects bridging traditional philol
ogy with digital methodologies and established important networks for di
gital humanities researchers across Latin America and Spain.\n\nFor more
