DESCRIPTION:\nMovement strategies on professional development in the neo
	liberal era.&nbsp\;\n\nShannon King is an historian of the black freedom
	 struggle outside the South\, particularly New York City during the firs
	t half of the twentieth century\, and is the author of&nbsp\;Whose Harle
	m Is This\, Anyway?&nbsp\;(NYU Press 2015). His work has appeared in the
	&nbsp\;Journal of African American History\,&nbsp\;Journal of Urban Hist
	ory\, and&nbsp\;Reviews in American History\; and essays in&nbsp\;Unders
	tanding and Teaching the Civil Rights Movement\,&nbsp\;The Strange Caree
	rs of the Jim Crow North\, and&nbsp\;Escape from New York!\n\nDr. King&r
	squo\;s teaching interests are largely about the Black Freedom Struggle\
	, urban and social history\, gender and women&rsquo\;s history\, carcera
	l studies\, and racial capitalism. His research interests lie mainly in 
	Black politics outside the South\, political economy and capitalism\, so
