SUMMARY:Applied Linguistics Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:\nThe Center for Research on English Language Learning and T
eaching (CRELLT) in the Department of Applied Linguistics presents &quot
\;CEAPP: Tour of the Tool and Data Session&quot\;\n\nThis roundtable has
two goals. The first is to give you a quick tour of CEAPP\, its content
and tools\, and its uses for research on L2 interactional data. We&rsqu
o\;ll use a study that Sally Wang\, Su Yin Khor and Joan Kelly Hall did
to illustrate CEAPP&rsquo\;s utility for studying the links between the
linguistic designs of teacher questions and the student responses they e
ngender.\n\nThe second goal is to engage participants in a two-part data
session. In the first\, we&rsquo\;ll examine teacher questions that hav
e been tagged for certain features to evaluate how well we think the cod
es capture the specific features. In the second part\, we&rsquo\;ll try
coding teacher questions for one additional feature: the knownness of th
e information being sought by the question.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nZoom link:&nbs
	p\;&nbsp\;https://psu.zoom.us/j/93393931885\n\nFor more details: https:/
