You will be introduced to AntConc, a freeware concordance program for analyzing language in use. We'll use some State of the Union speeches as an exploratory corpus. By the end of the session, you'll be able to observe key words in context, repeated linguistic patterns, and words that appear more often than by chance in the SOTU speeches.

We'll close by thinking about how this could be useful for your own projects.
