What poetry can do? Black feminist poetry is helping to reshape public culture in South Africa in important ways. A panel of three award-winning poets will talk about the power of acts of African feminist imagination in the world. Poet Makhosazana Xaba, the editor of Our Words, Our Worlds, a prize-winning account of writing by Black South African women poets over the past two decades, is joined on the panel by fellow contributors to Our Words, Our Worlds, Ronelda Kamfer and Gabeba Baderoon. The three poets will read from their work and discuss the extraordinary proliferation and potency of poetry in South Africa.
