	ging the field of African studies\, a project inspired by his experience
	 as host of the Africa Past and Present podcast—the longest-running Afri
	can studies podcast in the world. Alegi is a founding member of Sports A
	frica\, a coordinate organization of the U.S. African Studies Associatio
	n\, and convenes the online Football Scholars Forum. Finally\, he is the
	 editor of MSU Press’s African History and Culture book series and serve
