SUMMARY:African Studies Brown Bag Lecture
DESCRIPTION:\nInviolata Vicky Khasandi-Telewa is an associate professor 
	of English language teaching and applied linguistics in Laikipia Univers
	ity\, Kenya. She is currently a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at the 
	Center for African Studies and African American Studies Department in Pe
	nn State. She attained her doctoral degree in applied linguistics and En
	glish kanguage teaching\, from the University of Warwick\, United Kingdo
	m. She has been teaching in Laikipia University since 1997 and has just 
	completed her term as the dean of the School of Humanities and Developme
	nt Studies and acting deputy vice chancellor Academics\, Research and St
	udent Affairs. Her research interests are in applied linguistics in Afri
	can contexts particularly language-in-education policies\, discourses of
	 gender\, religion\, politics and governance\, refugees\, and ecolinguis
	tics. She is the editor of CORETRAIN journal. Some of her publications i
