African Studies Brown Bag Series: Dr. Saheed Aderinto, “An Entangled Past: Humans and Animals in African History”

This talk is based on Dr. Aderinto’s latest book, Animality and Colonial Subjecthood in Africa, which centers animals in African history.

It asks new questions about what constitutes history and the makers of the past, charts new methodological directions, and unveils new theoretical expositions about the entangled past of humans and nonhumans in African history.
