In recent months, millions of people have rebelled against anti-Black violence and social inequality. Join the Department of African American Studies for a Teach-in on Black Struggle: from Rebellion to Liberation on Thursday, October 29 at 5:00 p.m.
This teach-in addresses the question of how to understand these uprisings and their role in movements for the liberation of Black and other oppressed peoples.
Participants will also discuss why protests are often characterized as either peaceful or violent, the relationship between electoral politics and protests, representation and representative government, as well as the broad importance of Black struggle in movements for liberation.
