Alexander Motyl is professor of political science at Rutgers University, as well as a fiction writer, artist, and translator. He has authored nine academic books and edited or coedited fifteen volumes. He is a leading expert on Ukraine, Russia, and the USSR and has been writing extensively on the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine for various media outlets including Foreign Policy and The Atlantic Council.
