The Center for Democratic Deliberation will host a screening of documentaries produced by the 2026 cohort of students in the honors study-abroad course “The Culture of Deliberative Democracy in Ireland”. Light refreshments will be provided.

Led by Jessica O’Hara, Teaching Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences, and Johan Bodaski, Associate Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences, students in the program studied how practices of Irish democracy and culture shape each other. In addition to their coursework, students visited historically significant sites and interviewed citizens, artists, experts, and legislators to develop an understanding of the conditions necessary for democracy to flourish. Each group developed their own topic to explore.
