This day-long symposium sponsored by CSSI will feature four interdisciplinary research projects currently in process and four featured scholars working at the intersection of communication, science, and society. This symposium will be an exciting way to kick off the academic year. We encourage anyone with interests in communication, science, and society, and interdisciplinary scholarship more generally, to attend.
Research projects:
- Community awareness of health risks associated with the Aedes japonicus mosquito in Pennsylvania through laboratory diagnostics and educational field ecology approaches
- Family communication, youth digital media engagement, and physical health
- Obstacles to countering the spread of Aedes aegypti in rural Peru
- Mapping against the binary in the Mexico-US borderlands
