The focus of the New Testament is a first-century Jew, Jesus of Nazareth. It was (largely) written by Jews, and much of its original audience was Jewish. Yet, at some point it became the central text of a new religion, Christianity. What were the range of Jewish reactions to this collection once Judaism and Christianity were viewed as separate, and often-competing, religions?
