“Gender as ‘a symbolic glue’ vis-à-vis Reproductive Racism: Shortcomings and gaps in current approaches to anti-immigration and anti-gender stances”
This talk critically examines current scholarly approaches to the converge of anti-immigration and anti-gender agendas amongst a variety of political actors. Focusing on the lack of meaningfully engagements with race, this talk proposes Sophia Siddiqui´s notion of reproductive racism as an alternative to the gender as ‘a symbolic glue’ paradigm.
